The Chef Connie Memorial Summer Camp adds to the fight against obesity with a daily calisthenics and team sports.
Tutoring
To decrease summer learning loss, the CCMSC will include math & reading tutoring as a part of the day.
Culinary Arts Training
While an educator at Baltimore City Schools, our beloved Chef Connie started a culinary arts program at Calvin Rodwell Elementary School, named Vegetable Time, that was recognized by Michelle Obama as reported in the HBO documentary, "Weight of the Nation."
Fine Arts
Arts and crafts classes enhance creativity, and projects are included in book of recipes completed during camp.
Counseling & Support
IAGL UJAMAA will provide counseling and support for any children who may have developed emotional issues as a result of social and academic isolation.
Jr. NBA/WNBA Basketball Camp
In partnership with Simon Says Shoot Hoops Not Guns, campers have the option of choosing to focus on honing their basketball skills while learning the fine art of team-building and reaping the immense benefits that come from participating in team sports.
Gardening & Hydroponics
Campers will have the option to focus on gardening, learning how to grow their own food as well as learning hydroponics through creation of their own 3-D printed planters.
Horseback Riding
Baltimore's own City Ranch will introduce campers to animal husbandry through the care of horses: The City Ranch
Civic Engagement
Civic engagement prepares our youth for responsible citizenship and to advocate for their needs and desires.
